Picture it & write – Bitter Blue

Ermilia’s Picture it & write  (Sunday 20 January 2013)

Once again, here is my offering to ‘Picture it & write’ hosted by Ermilia (Ermisenda and Eliabeth) who invite others to join them by writing a fictional story or poem to accompany an image presented on their blog.

So you think you can have me.

So you think I care.

So you think the world is round.

What do I care!

What do I care; what do I care…

I don’t seem to care about much these days. I’m like that old clock on the wall; it’s stopped.

It stopped ticking some time ago. I think it was when you left.

Yeah; I think that was when it stopped.

It dawned on me that life was less than a flower; less than a pond; less than a mediocre grain of salt.

Yeah, that happened when you left me, encased in this frozen waste of bitter blue.

That chick reminds me of the woman that played Zan in Farscape – think her name is Virginia Hey – from Aus ;-)

  12. I like the part about how the clock stopped ticking. Like a parallel for when your heart stopped ticking. It reminded me of my Nana singing me a song when I was little, called my Grandfather’s Clock. ♪♫ It stopped short, never to go again, when the old man died. ♪♫

    • Thank You, Anne.
Yes, I too sang that song as a little girl. I haven’t heard it in many a year now. And yes, the parallel (to this song) is a good one…! :)

  15. “….Yeah, that happened when you left me, encased in this frozen waste of bitter blue….” This is a nice description of a state a person can end up in after somebody leaves.

However, it seems to me that’s us just a deception…she is free…
