Rabbit (General) (Listen while you read)
Go away! Please go away.
I don’t want to make a nuisance of myself; so please go away!
(I’m a little shy; you know.
Well, I think you know that…. Yes, I think you know that I’m a little shy; so I’ll tell you some things about myself you may not know….
Ahemmm, ahemmmm. Right; where shall I start?
Well, I think I’ll start with my favourite things. Yes, that’s a good place to start.
Well, my favourite things…. My favourite things….!
Well, I like to feel cosy. Yes, that can be number 1. I like to feel cosy.
Do you? Do you like to feel ‘cosy’? Yes? Good, that’s one thing we have in common.
Now, number 2. What is my number 2 favourite thing?
I know; I like to have plenty of good things to eat. Do you? Yes? Good; that’s 2 things that we have in common.
Now, number 3. What’s third in my list of favourite things?
I know; I like to take long walks. Yes, that’s right; I like to take long walks. Do you? Yes? Maybe? No?
Well, we may have to disagree on that one. But honestly; how many things there ‘are’ that we both like to do, will certainly outweigh the other side of the ledger.
Don’t you think?
So what is it you are saying?
It’s really very simple.
We represent the energy of likeness; a likeness between you and me. We’re not so very different you see.
We both need rest, food, shelter, clothing; well YOU need clothing.
We need to feel loved. We need to feel needed. We need our happiness to be taken care of.
Happiness?
Yes, happiness. We all need to take care of our ‘happiness’; who will if we don’t?
So, yes we need to take care of our ‘happiness’.
So you see; we’re not so different really. The bottom line is ‘the bottom line’ for each and every one of us.
No, we are not so very different after all.)
Red Panda (Listen while you read)
Once upon a time, long, long ago, in the land of dreams,
there happened to be a need for something interesting to come his way.
It did, many times, but he was so busy that he didn’t notice it, and it went away!
(So what is the moral to this story? Look around you, visit the unknown, pamper yourself with dreams and their future.
What. What do you say? Yes, I agree with you it’s hard to see the future however, if you don’t dream what good’s a future? If you don’t take that jump into life; what good’s a future? If you don’t crave for something better; what good’s a future?
Yes, we cannot know what the future has in store for us. No; this is certainly true. Does this mean that we just sit about doing nothing; thinking nothing; being without a dream?
Yes? Do you really feel that way? Then I am sorry for you my friend. I am sorry because to be without a dream is to be in a very forlorn state; is it not? Is it not a sense of destitution when we are without a dream? Yes; indeed this is true. Without our own private dream we are like ships wandering aimlessly on a sea of aloneness.
Yes, my friend. Do you want to be alone? Yes. Well this is what you shall have.
A dream; that is all it takes to be a part of the whole.
“The whole?” I hear you say. Yes, that’s right; the whole. And what is the whole? It is that which you join when you have a dream. It is your birthright to be a part of the whole of mankind. Not alone. Not without a dream.
No, we do not wish this for you my friend. We want to see you as one with the whole; enjoying your dream; your independent dream; a dream that, if you will allow, will take the rest of your life to fulfill. That’s right.
And now; do you have a dream, my friend? Yes. That is very good. Do you have a dream, my friend? No.
Well my dear friends; it would seem that the Red Panda represents mankind’s individual need to have a dream; a purpose; a goal towards which we can work. Without a dream; a purpose; a goal, we are like shifting sand; never quite stable; never quite secure; never quite feeling the strength that we can feel should we have a dream; a purpose; a goal toward which to work.)
Rhinoceros (Listen while you read)
I don’t want to hurt anyone; really that’s not my way. I haven’t a mean bone in my body; as they say.
But you wouldn’t want to mess with me; when the chips are down; because I shall defend myself. And I’ll wear the crown.
(Left on my own I am a delightful being; it is only when I am ‘near’ others; in ‘sight’ of others; in the ‘company’ of others; in-between; around; amidst; you get my drift; that ‘you’ need to watch your p’s and q’s. Indeed. This is not to say that I am mean; oh no, that isn’t me. I am not mean; I am just ornery; that I am. Mean and ornery are definitely two different energies; wouldn’t you say? Mean is an angry (not to be liked) energy. That it is. Ornery is a beast of a different stature; indeed this is so. And this ‘ornery’ applies to me; indeed it does. And what is ‘ornery’? It is a mixture of energy; a mixture of many energies, indeed. Let me just look it up in the Oxford dictionary…! Ornery: bad tempered or difficult to deal with. That’s what it said; bad tempered or difficult to deal with. Well, perhaps this is true. Hmmmmm, bad tempered…..! Hmmmmm. Yes, I’d say that this is true….. Hmmmmm. Hmmmmm. Bad tempered….. Oh dear; do you know, I believe that this isssss true. Oh dear; I have never thought of it in this way. Bad tempered…..? Well, you know, I do ‘let off steam’ very often; but then it’s always somebody else’s fault. That’s right. It’s always somebody else who makes me ‘have’ to ‘let off steam’. If it wasn’t for them then life would be pretty darn good; I’d say. That’s right; it is always somebody else’s fault. I wouldn’t have to ‘let off steam’ but for the actions of others; isn’t this true…..! Oh good; now I feel much better. I was beginning to think….. no, it couldn’t be me…..!
…..And the other? What was the other term that the Oxford (oh yes, it has to be the Oxford….!; is there any other?)…..
Where was I? Oh yes, the ‘other’ term…….. ‘Difficult to deal with’. Yes, that’s right; it said ‘difficult to deal with’. Right. Let me think this one through. The Oxford (and therefore this is correct); the Oxford said that ornery meant ‘difficult to deal with’. Hmmmmm. Hmmmmm. I am ‘something’ of importance. That’s it. I am ‘something of importance’ that needs to be dealt with….. Well, I haven’t really ever thought of myself as ‘important’; but if that is what the Oxford dictionary says then I guess it must be true.
Yes my friends; the Rhino type can twist and meander their way through life never quite seeing the reality of themselves and how they ‘react’ to others. Indeed they have ‘blinkers’ on most of the time. They will convert almost any situation to their advantage and; sorry to say; never quite see themselves as they really are. A great shame; because along with many of their virtues is the ability to see others in a more genuine fashion. Seems a contradiction. Yes, generally we see others as ‘mirrors’ but not this individual. For the most part the Rhino personality points one finger at you quite clearly however, those pointing back at him remain clouded with his false opinion of himself.)
Rooster (General) (Listen while you read)
This is my day, yes it is!
It is my day and I’m going to make the most of it…! Yes, indeed.
(This is ‘your’ day; are you going to make the most of it? I certainly hope so.
Take a leaf from my book and let yourself crow…. Go on…. Let yourself crow away into the day.
That’s right! Let yourself be heard this day. In fact, let yourself be heard everyday of your life.
Why? You ask why!
Why not, my friend? Why not!!!)
Sheep (General) (Listen while you read)
All is well, don’t worry; it will all work out…
(Today is a day to remember. Why? Why is today a day to remember? Today is a day to remember because there are many things that are going to happen this day which will allow you to understand some things that you currently do not understand. Yes my friend; today you will understand that there is no need to worry, indeed. And, why do we say this? We say this because it is true. You, my friend, tend to worry; do you not? Indeed you do, my friend. You, especially you, tend to worry about the ‘small’ things, don’t you? Yes you do; we know you do. And why do you tend to worry about the ‘small’ things? We’ll tell you. You, my friend, tend to worry about the small things because your brain tends to ‘get in your way’; does it not? Doesn’t your brain think and think and think and think? Indeed it does. And what does it think about? We know what it thinks about. It thinks about how important it is. It surely does this; does it not? It thinks about how important it is and how it and it alone, has the capacity to ‘work things out’. Huh; it thinks that it and it alone, has the capacity to understand ‘all things’. Huh, my friend, huh! Your brain would like you to think that it has all of the answers; yes, it surely does do this; does it not? Doesn’t it tell you that it has all the answers; all the understanding? Yes my friend, it certainly does. Is this true, my friend? No, dear one, this is not true. Your brain does not have all of the answers to solve all of life’s little problems.)
Sloth (Listen while you read)
Hey, there; life is for living; don’t you know……
(Yes, we know; it seems kinda odd we sloths giving out this kind of information. We know, we know. We’ve heard all the sloooowwww jokes…. Ha Ha Ha… Yes, we’ve heard it all; you might say. We know what it’s like to feel harassed; yes we do. We know what it’s like to be underestimated; yes, we do. We know what it’s like to be put down; yes we do. And why does this happen to us…. Well, just take a look at us; go on, take a look. What do you see? Go on; tell us. What do you see?
Precisely, we’re not the most beautiful thing walking; that we’re not. People have a habit of doing that, don’t they? They ‘take a look’ and judge you; not for what’s on the inside, oh no. They judge you from the outside in. We could be the most intelligent being on the planet and yet some (not all, mind you) but some would not be able to get past our looks. Yeah; happens all the time; sure does.
Whereas me (cause I’m so darned ugly) take on that criticism and believe it…. Yeah; I’m just as stupid as that guy is for judging me. I take his comments on board and allow them to become a part of me…. Stupid, stupid, stupid; yeah, I know. Won’t it be a good day when you stop judging me and I stop judging you and we all agree not to suffer…? Yeah; that will be a great day…!)
Squirrel (General) (Listen while you read)
A happy chap! Yes, a happy chap!
Won’t you come and join me!
(Too many fear being happy..!
Oh yes, my friends.
Too many fear being happy.
You think not?
You think there are those who pretend to be happy when they are not?
Do you think there are those who refuse to be happy?
These may seem like silly questions, my friends; and yet we know there are those who refuse happiness with all their heart.
And, why do they refuse happiness?
Some refuse happiness because of a past pain. That they do, dear hearts.
They refuse happiness because of a lost love, or a lost job, or a lost article of some monetary value.
There are a myriad reasons why some refuse happiness.
Are you refusing happiness?
Do you refuse happiness because the weather is not to your liking? Yes, does this ring true for you?
Could it be that happiness is alluding you because of a ‘difference of opinion’?
Indeed, many are the reasons why some refuse happiness.
A simple word is ‘happiness’. And yet, dear friends; woe be to those who refuse.)
Tiger (Listen while you read)
So you want to know what’s new. I can tell you a thing or two!
(So what’s new? Nothing really; no there is really nothing new! We all like to think that there is something new around every corner however; when we go around the corner we generally find the same set of circumstances before us. That is right my friends. We will find the same set of circumstances following us about wherever we go. And why is this so? This is so because; in order to learn from a particular condition we need to place ourselves into the same set of circumstances in order for the lesson to be learned.
We may find ourselves addressing similar people, similar conditions and a similar outcome over and over again. This will occur until we have learned whatever those conditions were to teach us. Indeed, my friends, we will constantly find ourselves walking around corners only to be presented with the same conditions.
How can we stop this constant? We can stop this by allowing ourselves firstly; to understand that the same set of conditions will prevail until we can stop this from occurring, by learning the lesson. And how do we ‘learn the lesson’? We learn the lesson by realising that indeed there is a lesson to be learned. This conscious understanding will begin the learning process. It is only when we do not stop to wonder why the same or similar conditions prevail within our lives, that we become ‘stuck’. Yes, my friends, we can become stuck in a constant that will prevail forever; should we not become consciously aware that in order to stop this constant we need to become aware of it within our lives. Once this has been achieved the rest shall become history as we ponder our choices of behaviour. We can allow ourselves to then modify our behaviour; and, with trial and error allow ourselves to absorb the learning and move on.)
Triceratops (listen while you read)
Okay wise guy; you’re it….!
(You are it; yes, that’s right. You are it.! And, what is it? Whatever you want to be.. That’s right. You are whatever you want to be.
We each have the ability to be whatever we want to be. Doesn’t matter ‘bout our upbringing; we can change any thing about ourselves that is not to our liking. Many disagree with this statement. Many say that we are what we are and we cannot change. Humbug; we can change any aspect of ourselves that we care to change. Just takes a bit of working at it; that’s all.
Yes, firstly we need to evaluate those aspects of ourselves that we may not like; and then, simple; we can begin the changing process immediately.
You see; any aspect of ourselves that is not agreeable can, and does, become its absolute opposite given enough time and energy. That’s an absolute certainty. The one who writes is a little stunned by this statement however; she continues to write knowing that whatever she receives will become an understanding of enormous potential, given a little inner thought. Now she is thinking…!!
Yes, that’s right. Any thing that we do not like about ourselves can indeed be changed. We are not just talking about the mental aspect of ourselves. We can change much of our physical selves with a little foresight and a good plan. We can change (for the most part) those sinews and tendons with a little good insight. After all, they are only cells, and cells have the wonderful ability to change.
We shall allow you to ponder this and will return to speak upon this another day…. Fairdewell and Au revoir……. !
Well, the mighty Triceratops sure has got me to thinking…. How ‘bout you?)
Wildebeest (Gnu) (Listen while you read)
What’s new? Nothing. No there’s nothing new. Or is there?
Wait a moment; I think that I have thought of something new……………………………
Nope, I was mistaken. No………..there’s nothing new; just the old, rehashed.
Oh well, guess that’s one on me!!!!!
(Look around you and what do you see? Do you see anything new? Do you see the real or the pretend? It’s up to us to see whatever we see. One man’s sight may see victorious happenings, whilst another man’s sight may view the ridiculous; you get the drift!
We each shall see the world through our own eyes. An obvious statement you say! Yes, all is obvious when viewed through this means. We shall each see what we see, through our own particular sight; our own particular experiences; our own particular viewpoint. Not to be confused with truth. No, this is where the confusion comes in; does it not? Indeed it does. We each see through the eyes of our own experience, and this is always somewhat different to the experiences of others.
A simple philosophy, and yet a true philosophy; to be sure.)
Wombat (Listen while you read)
Shut me out; you can’t. Cut me off; I still exist.
I remain always and ever; because I’m strong.
(Never, never, never get in the way of a Wombat about his business. He will run you over if you get in his way. This he will because this is his nature. A human wombat personality is somewhat the same; he will ‘run you over’ if you get in his way. Why? Why indeed. This personality is not to be tampered with; if you know what’s good for you. Better to move out of this personality’s way than to try to confront him. You will lose, my friend.
Now, why does the wombat personality present itself in this form? I’ll tell you why. It presents itself in this form because it knows no other way. That’s right. It’s pretty simple really. The wombat personality presents itself in this way because it knows no other way of addressing life’s complex conditions. Until it learns to meet life on gentler terms it will use its forceful personality to gets its way, indeed this is true. Until it learns that life can be dealt with using gentler mechanisms it will utilise the force of its will to decimate all and sundry who dare to stand in its way of achieving those things that it desires.
A childlike way of acting; to be sure.
Now let us address yet another aspect of the human wombat personality. It is rather tormented by its inability to perform. Yes, that’s right. It is frustrated by its attempts to perform certain tasks, this is so. It hasn’t as yet learned to deal with the daily rituals that it needs to endure without the concept of bullying its way through life has released its grip upon him/her. Yes, that is right. The human wombat personality is like a child stretching and growing and learning ‘how’ to fit itself into life. Simple enough! The human wombat personality, once matured, has an understanding of others who, like themselves, fought hard to acquire maturity. They, the matured human wombat personality, will understand ‘children’ more than any other personality type for, they have experienced the energies associated with childhood at a far greater depth than any other personality type. Evidence this with those who work with children and it will be noted, by more than a few, that they can relate to this supposition easily and with an honesty only known to themselves. They make excellent care givers, especially to those who have yet to reach maturity.
This may come as a surprise to many however; it is true my friends. Those who were perhaps the most stubborn of children do indeed grow up to be the most favoured of all by those for whom they serve; namely children.
